Apparently demonstrating 94% efficacy, the NIH-Moderna vaccine was authorised by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under EUA (Emergency Use Authorisation). Just days earlier, the similar Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine had also been authorised under EUA.
The Moderna and other vaccine brands, including Pfizer and BioNTech, entered the first phase of clinical trials.
